About the Role

Fully responsible for managing the Finnish data center electrical and mechanical operation, overseeing full-lifecycle O&M of electrical, HVAC, water supply and drainage, fire mechanical systems. Build a standardized O&M system, ensure 7x24 safe and efficient operation, align with Finland’s carbon neutrality goals and EU regulations, and drive team capacity building, cost control and compliant operation.

Core Responsibilities

1. Team & Talent Management: Manage recruitment, performance and daily work of the team (electrical, HVAC, mechanical engineers) per Finnish labor laws. Build a training system focusing on S1/S2 certifications, low-temperature technologies and EU regulations, enhancing the team’s professional and emergency capabilities.

2. Mechanical & Electrical O&M Coordination: Formulate and supervise O&M plans for electrical/mechanical systems. Leverage Finland’s low-temperature advantage to optimize free cooling and waste heat recovery, reduce PUE, and lead disposal of complex faults to minimize business impact.

3. O&M System Optimization: Establish and refine regulatory-compliant O&M systems (operating procedures, emergency plans). Introduce advanced tools (BMS/EMS) and technologies, promote energy-saving and automation upgrading projects to improve operational efficiency.

4. Cost & Supplier Management: Compile annual budgets, optimize energy and maintenance costs with local suppliers. Establish a Finnish market-adapted supplier system, supervise service quality per local commercial laws and coordinate with power grid/fire authorities.

5. Safety & Compliance Control: Implement safety systems per Finnish OSH Act, conduct hazard inspections and emergency drills (extreme cold, power outage, fire). Ensure compliance with Finnish regulations, EN 50600 series and GDPR, passing regulatory and customer audits.

6. Project & Cross-departmental Collaboration: Lead mechanical/electrical renovation/expansion projects, control progress and quality. Cooperate with internal teams and local authorities to ensure compliant project delivery and O&M handover.

Requirements

Education and Major

Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related fields; priority given to EU-recognized intermediate+ professional titles (Electrical/Mechanical/HVAC Engineer).

Work Experience

5+ years of data center mechanical-electrical O&M experience, including 2+ years of team management. Tier 3/Tier 4 data center experience and energy-saving project experience preferred.

Professional Skills

• Solid expertise in electrical/mechanical systems, proficient in free cooling, waste heat recovery and low-temperature operation technologies, familiar with Finnish S1/S2 standards.

• Well-versed in Finnish/EU regulations (EN 50600, GDPR, OSH Act), with strong system optimization and compliance control capabilities.

• Proficient in BMS/EMS operation, experienced in supplier management and budget control in the Finnish market.

Qualifications

Mandatory Finnish High-Voltage Electrician Certificate (S1/S2); preferred Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Operation Certificate, EU-recognized engineer certifications and manufacturer senior certifications. Bilingual (Finnish/English) preferred.
